PURPOSE OF JOB

This position is responsible for the timely shipping of mortgage loans to investors, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA, and Portfolio through activities such as reviewing electronically stored documents (EDOCS) for proper labels, resetting labels in EDOCS as needed, insuring that all documents required by the investor, have been properly scanned, scanning the closing package when it comes back from the closing agent, uploading electronic documents to investor websites or printing hard copy files as needed for overnight delivery. This position is also responsible for accurately completing electronic insurance application screen using the FHA, VA and USDA websites; remitting insurance payment to the appropriate agency; maintaining loan quality by adhering to procedures to meet compliance requirements, underwriting and closing guidelines; providing superior customer service to internal and external customers: following up with closing attorney after loan funds to retrieve closing package and begin post-closing measures; sending investor required documentation within required timeframe and clear conditions to ensure loan is purchased by investor.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Retrieves closed loan packages within 24-48 hours after loan funding
  • Coordinates with Correspondent Account Manager to cure any loan deficiencies.
  • Delivers required documentation to investor within the time constraints in place for said documents
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of investor and agency requirements about loan delivery and loan insuring for FHA, VA, USDA, THDA and conventional loans
  • Reviews and understands the investor requirements for loan delivery of all loan types
  • Uploads files to investor and/or agency using web-based tools as requested
  • Creates accurate hard copy paper file for delivery to agency as requested
  • Ensures final loan documents are received and sent to the final investor in a timely manner
  • Ensures HVCC, TILA and RESPA guidelines are being adhered to
  • Selects the proper checklist for each task being performed
  • Takes the necessary actions to complete all tasks on the checklist
  • Uses the MERS system to report closed loans and loans that have been sold/transferred
  • Ensures closed file is complete and stored properly in archive
  • Attends seminars and training, reads mortgage and investor publications to stay current with loan products, guidelines, regulations, and requirements
  • Promotes the Bank’s products and services whenever possible; participates in bank sponsored events, networking and volunteer opportunities at every opportunity

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
  • Three or more years of mortgage processing or closing experience preferred
  • Proficient understanding of mortgage banking concepts and regulations
  • Knowledge of agency and investor regulations and guidelines – FNMA, FHHLC, FHA, and VA
  • Ability to communicate effectively through writing, speaking and listening
  • Outstanding organization and attention to detail skills
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under time constraints, in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to provide superior level of customer service
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Calyx Point LOS and DU and LP AUS preferred
