COVID-19 Branch Operations Alert

During these unprecedented times, we are following CDC social distancing guidelines and taking proactive steps to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Please know the health and well-being of our customers, our employees, and our communities is our top priority, and we are closely monitoring the pandemic.

  • Effective Friday, March 20, 2020, we will temporarily close all Reliant branch lobbies to appointment only. To schedule a branch appointment, please contact your local banker during bank business hours. Prior to scheduling a branch appointment, we ask you to let us know if you have traveled out of the state in the past two weeks, are experiencing flu like symptoms or fever, have been asked to self-quarantine, or have come into contact with anyone who has.
  • Branches with drive-thru access will continue to provide service as usual.

We strongly encourage you to access the digital tools and alternative banking options below. We are advising customers who can access these options to please consider them as a first option. That way, we can all take part in minimizing the spread of COVID-19.

  1. 24/7 Mobile App – Account access connecting you to multiple banking services.
  2. Online Bill Pay – Web-based payment portal accessed via mobile app and desktop browser.
  3. 24/7 ATMs – Available at every Reliant Bank location and more than 32,000 surcharge-free ATMs nationwide through the MoneyPass® network.
  4. Tap-To-Pay – Apple Pay®, Google PayTM or Samsung Pay® via your connected Reliant Bank account. Use your smartphone to pay at participating merchants to avoid contact with high-touch surfaces.
  5. Debit Card/Credit Card – Remote purchasing capabilities if you are staying at home.
  6. 24/7 Telephone Banking – Access account functions directly from your phone.
  7. Online Banking – Desktop or mobile access allowing you to check balances, view statements, transfer funds, and other tasks.

For now, we are doing everything we can to make sure each Reliant Bank location is a safe place to do your banking. And we ask you to do your part as well.

To help prevent contamination of others, follow these guidelines:

  • Wash your hands frequently or use hand sanitizer while out in public.
  • Cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze.
  • Keep your distance from people who are coughing or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth – especially if you have not washed your hands.
  • If you are feeling symptoms, avoid going out but seek medical care if necessary.

An Open Letter About COVID-19 [Coronavirus]

Dear Valued Customers,

Reliant Bank recognizes the threat we all face regarding COVID-19, otherwise known as the coronavirus. Along with other organizations across the globe, we are approaching this situation with caution.

We are here to help you understand and navigate these uncertain times. We expect the impact to be felt in multiple ways, including financial market volatility. Please know we are closely monitoring daily developments and have created a detailed plan to ensure the banking services we provide to you are not disrupted.

First and foremost, we have put significant effort into ensuring that our employees are following CDC recommendations and common-sense hygiene measures. As part of our preventative measures, we are sharing helpful tips and providing respected resources so you can learn and do more to protect yourself and others from spreading illness.

What Can You Do?

Here are some important steps you should take to avoid illness and help minimize this emerging public health threat:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly and often – both front and back of hands and wrists – using soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Be especially diligent if you’ve touched someone you know is sick. If soap and water are not available, you may use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer to get similar results.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are experiencing symptoms of flu or other respiratory diseases. Stay at least 6 feet away from others who are sick. The virus can be spread through touch and via coughing or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
  • If you have symptoms, cover your coughs and sneezes by using the bend of your arm (elbow) or using disposable tissues and immediately discarding them in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces. If you are in a public setting, thoroughly wipe down surfaces with a bleach solution or pre-sanitized wipe prior to touching.
  • Stay home if you are sick. If your symptoms worsen, consult a healthcare professional about self-quarantining and next steps.
  • If you show signs of illness, avoid close contact with elderly family members and friends or those with compromising conditions who make up a large part of the most vulnerable population.

We are working hard to help reduce exposure. Here are a few ways we’re addressing the issue:


We have added extra supplies to each of our banking locations, including hand sanitizer, surface disinfectant, and gloves. Also, our cleaning services partners have pledged to adapt daily cleaning services to provide added disinfectant for high-touch, high-traffic surfaces.

Proactive Employment Policies

We provide generous time-off policies and additional guidance for our employees if they exhibit symptoms of coronavirus or other contagious diseases, are at risk due to recent travel, or have been directly exposed to the virus.

We’ve temporarily adjusted our work-from-home policies in the event employees must work from home, so we can continue supporting critical financial services such as ACH transactions.

In addition, we are restricting non-essential employee business travel to help prevent exposure.

At Reliant Bank, the well-being of our employees and customers is of utmost importance. And like organizations and individuals across the country, we are closely monitoring the current status of COVID-19 (coronavirus).

We understand that it’s unnerving to learn that the coronavirus has made its way to our community and want to assure you that we are taking proper precautions.

In addition to ensuring that our employees are following CDC recommendations and common-sense measures, we want to share these tips that may be taken to avoid illness and help respond to this emerging public health threat:

Phone and debit fraud alert

January 16, 2020

Reminder – Reliant will never ask for your account number over the phone. If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be Reliant Bank asking for any of the following information:

  • Debit Card PIN Number
  • Debit Card Number
  • Debit Card Security Code
  • Account Number
  • Social Security Number

Please end the call and call your local branch or 877-221-2050 to report the call to us. Reliant will not ask you for this information over the phone.

If you suspect that your card has been compromised or see suspicious debit card transactions in your account, you can turn off your card using the “Manage Cards” feature in the Reliant mobile app. You can learn more about Card Valet and Card Management features here.

Debit Card Alert:

Reliant Bank takes every precaution to protect your accounts. Because of recurring fraud, Reliant Bank declines foreign debit card transactions and places a temporary hold on the card to prevent unauthorized activity on the account. When a hold is placed, you will be unable to use your debit card until you confirm the purchase is authorized by calling 1-800-262-2024 – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

To prevent this from occurring, please let Reliant Bank know when you plan travel to foreign countries.

Skimmer Alert:  

There is an increased amount of debit card fraud among our cardholders.  We believe skimmers are the cause of most of this fraud.  A skimmer is a device placed on an ATM, gas pump, or similar machine where a debit/ATM card is swiped.  When the card is swiped it passes through the skimmer and on to the actual card reader, therefore providing the criminal with all debit card info from the magnetic strip.  The cardholder is unsuspecting because their transaction completes successfully.  The criminal then removes the skimmer once it has gathered numerous cardholder’s information and in turn conducts fraudulent transactions against those cardholders.

Please be cognizant when swiping your card at ATMs and gas stations.  If anything looks suspicious or out of the ordinary, please do not use that terminal.

How to Protect Yourself From Fraud

• Your Debit Card – Reliant Bank works with our debit card provider to minimize our customers’ fraud exposure.  Our provider has a Fraud Management Team which monitors our customers’ accounts to assess any suspicious activity.  From time to time you may receive a call regarding your account activity.  This is a protective measure in order to verify transactions on your account.  The Fraud Management Team will never ask you for your account number, debit card number or PIN.  If you are contacted by the Fraud Management Team and still have questions about your account, please contact your Reliant Banker for assistance.

• Protect Yourself from Skimmers - A skimmer is a device placed on an ATM, gas pump, or similar machine where a debit/ATM card is swiped and is designed to steal customer information.  More info

• Protect Yourself from Phishing - Phishing is a tactic scammers use to obtain customer information by crafting an email which looks like it is being sent from a legitimate organization, but when in fact it directs you to a bogus website to download malware and/or viruses or attempts to entice you to reveal sensitive personal information.  More info

• Protect Yourself from Vishing - Vishing is another tactic scammers use by leaving a voice message on your phone with instructions to call, often times, a toll free number where they request credit card numbers, PINs and other sensitive personal information.  More info
